Complete specifications

The Torpedo from Cold Steel is an exclusively throwing weapon. The tapered tips naturally slip out of the hand when thrown. Plus, due to the weight of the Torpedo, it doesn't matter much what part of the target it touches on impact. The shape and weight of the Torpedo (907g) allows the weapon to be thrown with surprising force. The Torpedo is a popular throwing weapon because it is not necessary to keep distances from the target as when throwing with a knife. The weight of the Torpedo and its perfect balance make it devastating no matter what part of it hits the target. This makes the Torpedo easy to throw, even if you are a beginner. Its size, weight and accuracy provide many advantages for hunting and survival. If you master the basic skill with the Torpedo, it can hunt animals the size of a medium-sized dog. You can also use the Torpedo as a stabbing weapon in combat. The Torpedo is made of 1055 steel. It is a tool carbon steel with 0.55% carbon, 0.6 to 0.9% manganese and other alloys. The hardness of the steel is 60 to 64 HRC. The carbon content and low alloying of this shallow hardened steel make it a very strong material that is not prone to the brittleness otherwise typical of higher carbon steels. It is suitable for the manufacture of blades subjected to stress and impact, such as large solid knives and swords.
