Hunting biathlon sling for crossbows
The strap was created in early 2016, when I realized its advantages while watching biathlon on TV. It allows you to use and carry a crossbow in difficult terrain while keeping both hands free, which was impossible in the past.
The strap is made of high-quality Czech chrome-tanned black cowhide with a thickness of approx. 3.5 mm, and the fittings are made of anodized duralumin and stainless steel.
The strap is ideal if you want to carry your crossbow safely and comfortably in difficult or inaccessible terrain, such as steep ascents or descents, while keeping your hands free. You can carry the crossbow on your back, drawn, with an arrow loaded, ready to shoot.
The strap ends with a flexible rubber band at the bottom, just like biathlon competitors have, so you can immediately slide the crossbow off your shoulders, aim, and shoot. With this unique strap, you can ride a bike or cross-country skis with a crossbow or other weapon.
Attaching it to a crossbow or other weapon is very easy, there are two options:
OPTION A - A 5 CM LONG STAINLESS STEEL SCREW WITH A DIAMETER OF 6 MM AND A METRIC THREAD STICKS OUT OF THE STRAP. CUT AN M6 THREAD INTO ANY WEAPON AND THEN SCREW THE STRAP INTO IT, THEN ADD A STAINLESS STEEL WASHER AND A STAINLESS STEEL M6 LOCK NUT WITH A PRESSED-IN NYLON WASHER TO PREVENT LOOSENING. EVERYTHING IS PART OF THE STRAP.
OPTION B - A STAINLESS STEEL PIN PROTRUDES FROM THE STRAP, IN WHICH A PRECISE HOLE IS MACHINED FOR A PIN TO WHICH A NORMAL SHOULDER STRAP IS ATTACHED. THIS PIN IS ALWAYS PART OF ALMOST EVERY WEAPON. THE PIN IS SIMPLY SLID ONTO THE PIN AND THEN SECURED WITH A SPRING-LOADED QUICK-RELEASE CLIP. THE DIAMETER OF THE CLIP WIRE IS 3 MM. THE CLIP IS PART OF THE STRAP. EVERYTHING CAN BE SEEN IN THE PICTURE.
SPECIFY VARIANT A OR B IN THE NOTES - IT IS UP TO YOU WHICH ONE YOU CHOOSE.
IN THE LOWER PART, THE STRAP ON EACH ARM ENDS WITH TWO 8 MM DIAMETER HOLES.
PULL THE BLACK RUBBER THROUGH THE UPPER HOLE IN THE STRAP - MAKE A KNOT IN THE RUBBER AND THEN PULL IT THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE BACK OF THE STOCK ON YOUR BOW, PREFERABLY SOMEWHERE BELOW THE CHEEKPIECE. IF THERE ARE NO HOLES IN THE STOCK, YOU CAN EASILY DRILL THEM. FOR EXAMPLE, THE EXCALIBUR MICRO AND GRIZZLY MODELS HAVE THEM, SO YOU DON'T NEED TO DRILL ANYTHING. THEN PUT THE RUBBER BACK INTO THE LOWER HOLE ON THE STRAP. BY SIMPLY ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF THE KNOT, YOU CAN ADJUST THE LENGTH OF THE RUBBER AND THUS THE TENSION OF THE WEAPON AGAINST YOUR BACK. EVERYTHING IS GENIUSLY SIMPLE AND RELIABLE. OF COURSE, YOU PERFORM THIS OPERATION FOR BOTH STRAPS, LEFT AND RIGHT. SETTING AND FASTENING TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES. FOR IMMEDIATE SHOOTING, YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE STRING - IT ALWAYS REMAINS FASTENED TO THE BOW.
