A video on how to make the serving is here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhgpUZLgnvU
The cost of shooting a crossbow is minimal, the only thing you need to do from time to time is wrap the center part of the bowstring, exactly where the bowstring acts on the arrow when shot.
The lifespan of this high quality wrap is about 300-600 shots, if you use a bowstring wax, it also depends on the performance of the crossbow, the faster and more powerful the crossbow, the more wear.
A well tightened and stitched serving is extremelly importan, to turn as many wraps as possible on the length of the wrap and to lock the edges well so that no gaps are created/, lasts about 300-600 shots, depending on the performance of the crossbow, the stronger the crossbow, the greater the demands on the quality of the wrap...
The most commonly used string on the center serving, a classic for most manufacturers of reputable brands. Braided SPECTRA , new smoother and slicker design, STRING DIAMETER IS .030" INCHES = approx. 0.71 mm = ideal thickness for crossbows
It is advisable to also buy a machine to tighten the wrap tightly, preferably straight in the set , see here :http://www.kuse.cz/kuse/eshop/5-1-PRISLUSENSTVI/0/5/70-Omotavka-set
